Description

This is an online, step-by-step tutorial in protein sequence analysis. It takes users from an 'unknown' fragment of DNA through identification of the correct reading frame, through BLAST searching, protein family analysis and protein structure analysis.

This interactive, hands-on tutorial, EMBER, has been the mainstay of the Introduction to Bioinformatics module of Manchester University's Bioinformatics MSc for many years. If you'd like to learn more about the tutorial, the following article gives an excellent overview:
